WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS • Do not try to light any appliance. • Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your building. • Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow the gas supplier’s instructions. • If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department. Some jurisdictions require that installers be licensed. Check with your local building authority about contractor licensing requirements. Improper installation and/or operation could create carbon monoxide gas and flue gases which could cause serious injury or death. Improper installation and/or operation will void the warranty. CODES AND STANDARDS: Installation must be in accordance with all local codes and/or the latest edition of the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA54 and the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA70 (U.S.), or standards CSA B149 – INSTALLATION CODES FOR GASBURNING APPLIANCES AND EQUIPMENT and/or local codes and Standard CSA C22.1 – Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1 (Canada). The heater, when installed, must be electrically grounded and bonded in accordance with local codes, or, in absence of local codes, with the Canadian Electrical Code or the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA70, as applicable. 2 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (Continued) WARNING This appliance is equipped with an unconventional gas control valve that is factory set with a manifold pressure of -.2 inches wc.
