You must charge the battery fully before using the DCS-BT1 for the first time. 1. Plug adapter into handsfree charging port. 2. Charging will be completed within 3 hours. During an active call : Red LED turns on. Do not attempt to charge the handsfree with anything other than adapter provided. Press and hold the activity button for 3 seconds. You will hear melody as the power is turned on. You will hear the voice prompt “Powering down” Blue LED blinks 5 times. Blue LED is on for 2 seconds and then turns off. 1. While the power is turned off, press and hold the activity button for 6 seconds. 2. You will hear the melody indicating that the power is on. After that, you will hear the voice prompt “Please pair phone now, Enter pin code” Activity button 3. When in pairing mode, the Blue LED indicator will blink rapidly. 4. Using your handset, find the ‘Bluetooth menu’ and ‘search for’ or ‘add’ new device. Search Device Input Password Search Device Alpine DCS-BT1 5. Select ‘Alpine DCS-BT1’ from the list of devices and pair it with your handset. The method of pairing or screen indication may be different depending on the handset model. 6. When asked for the Pass/PIN code during the pairing procedure, please enter ‘0000’ NOTE The Alpine DCS-BT1 may not be compatible with all handsets. Pairing 6 7 Blue LED 7. If pairing was successful, you will hear the voice prompt “Connected to phone” The Blue LED indicator blinks once every 5 seconds. NOTE ALPINE DCS-BT1 USER GUIDE ALPINE DCS-BT1 USER GUIDE Handsfree Connection To install the Alpine DCS-BT1 in your car, first place the metal visor clip onto the back of the Alpine DCS-BT1, then secure Alpine DCS-BT1 to the sun visor in your car as shown below. Installing in car 8 9 1. After pairing, Alpine DCS-BT1 connects automatically to your handset. If the devices are paired but not connected, press the Activity button. 2. If the devices are disconnected, you will hear the voice prompt “Phone disconnected”. The handsfree will remain in auto reconnection mode for 30 minutes. NOTE When disconnected from your handset, the handsfree turns off automatically after 30 minutes. DCS-BT1 Operation Making a call 1. Last number redial Press and hold the the Activity button for 1 second to activate last number redial. (Some handset will show the list of calls.) 2. Voice dialing Briefly press the Activity button to activated 'voice command'. Tip Your handset must support the ‘voice dial’ function. Answering a call Briefly press the Activity button to answer an incomming call. Ending a call Briefly press the Activity button. You will hear the voice prompt “End of call”. Tip During an incoming call, you will hear the voice prompt “Call from XXXXXXXX”. Call waiting 10 11 Turn the knob clockwise for volume up and counter-clockwise for volume down. A light tone will be played when the volume reaches the maximum level. Low battery When the battery is low, you will hear the voice prompt “Low battery” 1. Standby : Red LED blinks once every 5 seconds. 2. During an active call : Red LED turns on.
