Never try to repair the blender yourself. • Unplug the blender before replacing the blender jug with the coffee/spice mill and vice versa, before removing the lid from the jug or the mill, before cleaning, and when the blender is not in use. • Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Mill lid (646-048) PRIOR TO FIRST USE Place the base (7) on a flat surface, e.g. a kitchen counter, and make sure it is standing firmly on the four suckers underneath. Before using the blender for the first time, or after prolonged storage without use, wash any parts that will come into contact with food. 10 USING THE BLENDER CLEANING General operation • Fit the blender jug (4) or coffee/spice mill (9), and put the ingredients to be blended in it as described below. • Start the blender by turning the on/off button (8) to position “1” or “2” and switch it off by turning it back to position “0”. • To use the blender in short bursts, turn the on/off button to position “Pulse”. The blender will run at top speed as long as you hold the button down in that position, and will stop when you release the button, which then automatically reverts to position “0”. • You should stop the blender at regular intervals to check whether the ingredients have been sufficiently blended/chopped. Using the blender jug Attach the blender jug to the blender shaft (6) with the handle facing away from you and to the left, and turn it clockwise until it locks into place. 1. Fit the jug lid ( ) by placing it over the blender with the pin to the right of the handle and turning the lid clockwise until it locks into place. 4. Fit the filler cap (2) by inserting it into the hole in the lid so the pins on the cap fit into the grooves in the lid. Turn the cap clockwise until it locks into place. 5. Start the blender. 6. Use the filler cap to add more ingredients during blending, if necessary. In that case, stop the blender before removing the cap to avoid splashes. 7. Remove the filler cap, the jug lid and the blender jug in reverse order. Hold the release button (1) down while twisting off the lid. Important! If the blender is to be used to chop different types of food (e.g. raw meat followed by vegetables, or egg followed by fruit), you must wash the parts that come into contact with food between each type of food. Using the coffee/spice mill The coffee/spice mill is ideal for grinding coffee beans and various spices. 1. Attach the mill to the blender shaft and turn it anticlockwise until it locks into place. 2. Place the items to be ground in the mill. . Fit the mill lid (10) by placing it on the mill and turning it anticlockwise until it locks into place. 4. Start the blender. 5. Remove the mill lid and the mill in reverse order. Storage Ensure that the blender is clean and dry before storing. • Before cleaning, remove the plug from the wall socket. • The best way to clean the base of the blender is to wipe it with a well-wrung cloth using hot water and a little detergent. The base must not be submerged in any form of liquid! • The blender jug, the coffee/spice mill, the two lids and the filler cap can be washed in the usual way. • Do not use any kind of strong or abrasive cleaning agent on the blender parts. Never use a scouring sponge or similar to clean the blender, as the surface may be damaged.
