Press the STOP button to cancel All Track Repeat playback. 13 HD8150_122904.p65 13 29/12/2004, 9:51 INTRO (Intro Scan) PLAYBACK The Intro Scan feature plays only the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc. This feature is useful when you are trying to find a particular song but you cannot remember the title. 1.) Load your disc in the player as usual and press the PLAY/PAUSE button to begin playback. 2.) When playback begins press the MODE button 3 times. The INTRO indicator flashes. 3.) Press the PLAY/PAUSE button once more. The INTRO indicator stops flashing . The player backs up to the beginning of track 1, plays the’On‘ and remains first 10 seconds of each track on the disc, and then stops. To cancel Intro Scan playback press the STOP button. SHUFFLE (Random) PLAYBACK When Shuffle playback is selected all the tracks on the disc will be played back in random order. 1.) Load your disc in the player as usual and press the PLAY/PAUSE button to begin playback. 2.) When playback begins press the MODE button 4 times. The SHUFF indicator flashes. 3.) Press the PLAY/PAUSE button once more. The SHUFF indicator stops flashing . The player randomly selects a track for playback. After’On‘ and remains each track has played once the player stops. To cancel Shuffle playback press the STOP button. 14 HD8150_122904.p65 14 29/12/2004, 9:51 PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK You can program up to 20 tracks on a disc to play in any desired order. NOTE: You can program a disc either during playback or in Stop mode. 1.) Press the PROG button once. The PROG indicator and the Program Number flashes. ’00appear,andthetracknumber‘ ’01‘ 2.) Press the SKIP FWD or SKIP REV button to select the first track to be programmed. Example: Track 2. 3.) When the desired track number is flashing in the display press the PROG button again to enter the desired track number in Program Number 1. The track number returns to “00” and the Program Number advances to “02”. 4.) Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to program additional tracks up to a maximum of 20. 15 HD8150_122904.p65 15 29/12/2004, 9:51 5.) Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to begin programmed playback. The PROG indicator remains in the display and the track display stops flashing. • Playback begins with the first track you programmed and continues until all programmed tracks have been played, and then the player stops. The programmed sequence will remain in the memory until the power shuts off (approximately 30 seconds) or until the CD door is opened. • If you press the PROG and PLAY/PAUSE buttons again before the power shuts off the programmed sequence will play again. 16 HD8150_122904.p65 16 29/12/2004, 9:51 17 USING THE CAR CASSETTE ADAPTER Compact discs played in this unit can be heard through a car cassette deck by using the CD cassette adapter. When listening to a CD in the car, use the supplied CD cassette adapter to play a CD through a car stereo cassette deck. Operating instructions 1) Insert the cassette adapter plug into the PHONES jack of the CD player. Note: Make sure that the cassette adapter plug is inserted into the PHONES jack as far as it will go. If the plug is not fully inserted, you may only hear sound from one of the car speaker. 2) Adjust the CD player’s volume control to maximum level. 3) Turn on the car stereo cassette deck, set the car stereo volume to a low level and insert the cassette adapter with the THIS SIDE UP markings facing upwards into the car cassette deck slot. The cord should be able to exit at the front of the cassette deck. If using an auto-reverse cassette deck, set the direction control as if playing the top side of the cassette adapter or the adapter will not work. 4) Play the CD and adjust the volume of the car stereo. The CD player’s Volume control will affect the car stereo sound level. HD8150_122904.p65 17 29/12/2004, 9:51 18 USING THE CAR DC-DC CONVERTER You can save money on batteries by using the supplied Car DC-DC Converter. 1) Insert the small end of the Car DC-DC Converter into the DC IN 4.5V Input Jack on the CD player. 2) Insert the large end of the Car DC-DC Converter into the car cigarette lighter socket. NOTES: • Use only the supplied Car DC-DC Converter with the CD player. • Unplug the Car DC-DC Converter from the cigarette lighter when not in use to avoid draining the car’s battery. • Strong vibration may cause the CD player to skip on rough surfaces if anti-skip feature is not being used, so position it securely when in the car. • Do not leave on dashboard or exposed to direct sunlight as excessive heat may damage the CD player. If the cabinet is very dirty, dampen the cloth with a weak solution of neutral detergent and water, and then wipe clean.
