AUDIO Many DVDs provide multiple language and audio setup options, such as Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Pro Logic, or LPCM 2 Channel audio. SUBTITLES/AUDIO/3D SOUND 4 - Special DVD Features 17 REPEAT FEATURES Follow these steps to repeat a chapter, title, or segment (A-B) or a DVD disc. MODE press REPEAT REPEAT CHAPTER/TITLE You can repeat a single chapter over and over, or you can repeat a complete title. 1 While playing a DVD, press MODE/REPEAT. On the Repeat menu, the current Repeat Mode will blink. 2 Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys to select Chapter or Title. 3 Press SETUP/ENTER to repeat the current chapter/title. MODE press REPEAT A-B REPEAT The A-B Repeat function allows you to repeat any segment of a DVD or CD over and over again. Simply mark the beginning point (A) and the ending point (B) of the segment you want to review. 1 While playing a DVD, press MODE/ REPEAT. 2 Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys to select A-B Repeat – the “A” will blink when AB Repeat is selected. 3 Press SETUP/ENTER at the beginning of the segment you want to repeat – the “B” will blink after Point A is selected. 4 Press SETUP/ENTER again at the end of the segment you want to repeat. The segment will repeat in a continuous loop. 5 To resume normal playback, press the MODE/REPEAT button to open the “Repeat Menu”. Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys to highlight “Off,” then press the SETUP/ENTER. NOTE • The minimum AB Repeat time is 5 seconds. 18 DVD+VCR User’s Guide You can insert up to three Bookmarks on your DVDs, so you can jump quickly to your favorite scene or song. MARK press SEARCH/INDEX SET BOOKMARKS 1 While a DVD is playing, press MARK. The “Mark” header will appear on the screen. 2 Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys to move to one of the three bookmark placeholders (- - -). The selected placeholder will blink. 3 When the DVD is at the scene you want to bookmark, press SETUP/ENTER. The place holder will change to a number (1, 2 or 3). 4 The bookmark is set! • To add up to 3 bookmarks, repeat steps 2-3. • To cancel a bookmark, select it and press CLEAR. • To exit the Bookmark menu, press MARK again. JUMP TO BOOKMARKS 1 During playback, press MARK. 2 Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys to move to a previously set bookmark. 3 Press SETUP/ENTER to play the bookmark. • To cancel the bookmark, press CLEAR. • To exit the Bookmark menu, press MARK again. BOOKMARKS 4 - Special DVD Features 19 RANDOM/PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK Follow these steps to program playback of a DVD or CD in a random or preset order. MODE with TV View press set to DVD REPEAT Select Programmed Play RANDOM PLAYBACK Random Playback sets a random order for playback of chapters/tracks on a DVD or CD. 1 While a DVD/CD is stopped, press MODE/REPEAT. 2 Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to move the pointer to “Random Play,” then press the RIGHT arrow key to select. The disc will play back automatically in random order. 3 Press CLEAR to cancel “Random Play.” PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK Programmed Playback lets you set a custom order for playback of chapters/tracks on a DVD or CD. 1 While a DVD/CD is stopped, press MODE/REPEAT. 2 Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to move the pointer to “Programmed Play,” then press the RIGHT arrow key to select. 3 Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to move the pointer to the desired chapter/track in your playback list, then press SETUP/ ENTER to add it to the list. • Continue in this fashion until all desired chapters/tracks are added. • To change a selection, press CLEAR. 4 Press PLAY/PAUSE.
