LOADING ERROR l A loading error occurred while receiving data from NetMoves. Contact NetMoves at 1-888-332-9728. For fax advantage assistance, call 1-800-435-7329. Error Messages Display message Cause & Remedy MEMORY FULL . When making a copy, the document being stored exceeds the memory capacity of the unit. Press STOP to clear the message. Divide the document and try again. MESSAGE FULL l There is no room left in memory to record a voice message. Erase unnecessary messages (p. 55). . There is something wrong with the modem circuit. Contact our service personnel. MODEM ERROR . The other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try again. NO FAX REPLY l A recording paper jam occurred. Clear the jammed paper (p. 76). PAPER JAMMED . The unit is checking that there is no slack on the ink film. Wait for a while. PLEASE WAIT . The other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try again. REDIAL TIME OUT REMOVE DOCUMENT l The document is jammed. Remove the jammed document (p. 77). . Attempted to transmit a document longer than 600 mm (235.8"). Press STOP to remove the document. Divide the document into two or more sheets and try again. l A transmission error occurred. Try again. TRANSMIT ERROR UNIT OVERHEATED l The unit is too hot. Let the unit cool down. For fax advantage assistance, call 1-800-435-7329. Operations When a function does not work, check here before requesting help! General Problem Cause & Remedy I cannot make and receive calls. l The power cord or telephone line cord is not connected. Check the connections (p. 12). l If you used a splitter to connect the unit, remove the splitter and connect the unit to the wall jack directly. If the unit operates properly, check the splitter. I cannot make calls. l The dialing mode setting is wrong. Change the setting of feature #13 (p. 63). The unit does not work. l Disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect the line to a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your telephone company. The unit does not ring. l The ringer volume is set to off. Adjust it to a suitable level (p. 17). l The TAD ring count of feature #06 is set to “RINGER OFF”. Change to another ring count (p. 63). The unit displays the following message though the paper is inserted. CHECK PAPER l The paper is inserted halfway. Insert it correctly (p. 11) and press to clear the message.SET The other party complains they only hear a fax tone and cannot talk. l The FAX ONLY mode is set. Tell them the number is only used for faxes or change to TAD/FAX, TEL or TEL/FAX mode (p. 40, 41). The button does not function properly. REDIAL/PAUSE l If this button is pressed during dialing, a pause will be inserted. If pressed immediately after a dial tone is obtained, the last number dialed will be redialed. Connect the unit to a line that does not have these services. l The extension telephone on the same line is off the hook. Hang up the extension telephone and try again. l Try copying the document. If the copied image is clear, there may be something wrong with the other party’s machine. The other party complains that dirty patterns or black lines appear on their received document. l The glass or rollers are dirty. Clean them (p. 80).
