The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code : Blue : Neutral Brown : Live As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this apparatus may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows : The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red. Do not connect either wire to the earth terminal in the plug which is marked by the letter E or by the safety earth symbol Y or coloured green or green-and-yellow. (turn over) Charging the Battery Pack (See illustration A) 1 Connect the power cord to a wall outlet. The POWER lamp (green) lights up.2 Install the battery pack. Align the right side of the battery pack with the line on the AC power adaptor, then while pressing the battery pack, slide it in the direction of the arrow.3 Set the selector to CHARGE. The CHARGE lamp (orange) lights up. Charging begins. To stop charging Set the selector to VTR. When charging is completed The CHARGE lamp (orange) goes out . Set the selector to VTR and unplug the unit. To remove the battery pack Slide the battery pack in the opposite direction of the arrow. This is normal. • If the POWER lamp does not light, set the selector to VTR and disconnect the power cord. After about one minute, reconnect the power cord and set the selector to CHARGE again.
