1. DO NOT CHARGE OR STORE THE GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ CLOSER THAN 20 FEET FROM ANY FLAME (E.G. FURNACE, FIREPLACE, WATER HEATER, SPACE HEATER) 2. Be sure to only use 110V AC with the GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ charger. Also make sure the plug is inserted into a three prong grounded AC outlet. 3. PLUG the POWER INPUT CORD into the GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ charging receptacle. (Fig. 1) Fig. 1 4. Plug the GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ 12V battery charger into a 110V AC power source. 5. The CHARGER INDICATOR LIGHT will illuminate confirming that power is connected to the charger. If the light does not come on check all connections. If it still does not come on after checking all connections, fuses and that your AC plug is working, unplug the charger and call Electra Customer Service / Technical Support Toll-Free at 1-888-467-1234 M-F 10am -9pm EST 6. DO NOT KEEP THE GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ CONNECTED TO THE CHARGER FOR LONGER THAN 18 HOURS UNDER ANY CIRCUSTANCES! DOING SO COULD CAUSE THE BATTERY OR CHARGER TO OVERHEAT AND CAUSE A FIRE. 7. When the light on the 12V charger light is red, the GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ battery is being properly charged.When the GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ battery is fully charged, the light will change to green. If this does not occur after approximately 16 hours of charging, unplug the charger and call customer service. Normal Recharge Time for the main battery is 4-6 Hours (assuming it is not 100% discharged before charging) 8. Disconnect the Input Cord from the Charging Receptacle. 9. Disconnect the charger from the 110V Power Source. 10. NEVER LEAVE THE BATTERY CHARGER CONNECTED TO THE 110V POWER SOURCE OR THE GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ WHEN NOT CHARGING THE BATTERY. KEEPING THE CHARGER PLUGGED INTO THE 110V POWER SOURCE AND NOT THE BATTERY COULD CAUSE THE CHARGER TO OVERHEAT AND OR CAUSE A FIRE. 11. When storing your GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ for lengthy periods of time, the battery should be charged at least once a month to avoid full battery depletion. CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65 BATTERY POSTS, TERMINALS, POWER CORDS AND BRAKE CABLES MAY CONTAIN LEAD AND LEAD COMPOUNDS, CHEMICALS KNOWN TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CAUSE CANCER AND REPRODUCTIVE HARM. WASH HANDS AFTER HANDLING. 15 STARTING INSTRUCTIONS First, be sure there is pre-mixed gasoline the gas tank. If unsure about the gasoline mixture, refer to the Gasoline/Oil Mixing Instructions section. Make sure both fuel lines are properly attached to the carburetor. There is one main fuel line (black) and one primer bulb line (clear). If these lines are not properly attached, the engine will not run. 1. Make sure battery is fully charged (see battery charging instructions) *When using the electric starter feature, the battery on the GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ must be fully charged. To understand how to charge your battery, please see CHARGING THE GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ BATTERY section. 2. Make sure ignition key is in ON position. 3.You will first need to prime the engine with fuel. The primer ball is located on the carburetor, which is on the front of the engine. (Fig. 1) Primer Ball Choke Lever Up/On Down/Off Fig. 1 Fig. 2 4. Pump the primer ball approximately 10 to 15 times, or until fuel is completely visible all throughout the clear fuel line. 5. Pull the choke lever up, to the "ON" position. (Fig. 2) Proceed to start the engine using either the Pull Start (Fig. 3) or the Electric Start (Left brake lever must be engaged with Electric start feature) (Fig. 4) *If engine does not start with choke Up/On, attempt to start with choke lever on Down/Off position WHEN USING THE ELECTRIC STARTER FEATURE, THE LEFT BRAKE HANDLE MUST BE ENGAGED! FAILURE TO ENGAGE THE LEFT BRAKE LEVER WILL NOT ALLOW THE GAS CHOPPER SCOOTER™ TO START USING THE ELECTRICAL STARTER FEATURE! 6. Once the engine starts, allow it to run on its own and warm up for a few minutes. After a few minutes push choke lever to Down/Off position.
