20080822 Battery-poweredhvacfordaycabs carb-compliant Compressor/evaporator/blower unit with molded composite cover fits between seats, discharges cool air toward driver, connected by flexible refrigerant linesets to condenser unit on back of cab or under truck. Digital control mounts on top of unit for easy driver access. Integrated turnkey system includes Group 31 AGM batteries, inverter, high-capacity alternator/regulator, compressor/evaporator/blower unit inside cab, external condenser unit, connecting refrigerant linesets and optional shorepower plug. NOFUEL.NOEMISSIONS.NONOISE. JUSTCLEAN,QUIETCOMFORT. Dometic'sbattery-powereddaycabHVACsolutionisdesignedtomeettheuniquerequirementsofclass5,6,7and8trucksonshort-haulroutes.Itprovidesamaximumof2hoursofcoolingwithoutrunningthetruck'sengine.ThesystemusesabankofGroup31absorbedglassmat(AGM)batteries,whichreplacesthetruck’sexistingbatteries.Itconsumesnofuelandemitsnoexhaustfumes.Thesystem’s2,000-wattinverterconvertsthe12-voltoutputfromthebatteriesinto115-voltACpowertoruntheairconditioner.Theinverterhasbeenspeciallyengineeredtomeetthedemandingpowerrequirementsoftheairconditioner. Thehigh-capacityalternator/regulatorrechargesbatteriesquicklyonshortrunsbetweenstopsandkeepsthemfullychargedwhentheengineisrunning.The7,000-BTUairconditioningsystemconsistsofacompressor/evaporator/blowerunitthatfitsbetweentheseatsinsidethecabandaruggedizedcondensingunitthatmountsoutsideofthetruck–eitherbehindthecaborunderthetruck.Theinsideandoutsideunitsareconnectedbyflexiblerefrigerantlinesetswithreusablequick-connectfittings.Thesystemisprechargedwithrefrigerantatthefactory,sothatallcomponentschargeautomaticallytothecorrectpressureswhenthelinesetsareconnected.Noadditionalchargingisneeded,andnospecialtoolsarerequiredforinstallation.
