The «mains on» light will come on. When the programme has finished press this button again to switch the machine off. The «mains on» light will then go out. There is a safety delay on this machine, so you must wait approximately 2 minutes after the end of the programme before you can open the machine door. 10 Hints for successful washing • Do not overload the machine. If possible, weigh the laundry the first few times. The average weights of some common items are listed below as a guide: Sheet_700-1000 g Pillowcase 100- 200 g Teatowel 70- 100g Hand towel 150- 250 g Tablecloth 400- 500 g Shirt 200- 300 g Bath robe 1000-1500 g Bath towel 700-1000 g • Load the laundry loosely, alternating large items with small ones. • Sort the laundry according to fabric type, colourfastness and how dirty it is. • Do not wash unhemmed or torn items, as they may unravel. • Completely empty all pockets. Close zips and fasten buttons. • Remove hooks from curtains. • Wash new coloured items separately, at least for the first time. • When washing fabrics requiring different wash temperatures together, always use the lowest temperature. Wash white items separately. • Wash small items (ribbons, socks, handkerchiefs etc.) in a washing bag. • Use bleach carefully as it is very corrosive. Keep it out of children’s reach. • Treat stubborn stains (wine, grass, rust etc.) with stain removal products before washing. • Only machine wash wool marked «Pure New Wool - washable, preshrunk». • Hang damp washing out to dry as soon as possible after finishing the wash. Dry knitwear and woollens flat, away from direct sunlight. To ensure you obtain the best wash results from your appliance, it is important to use the right detergent in your everyday wash, and only detergents recommended for use in automatic machines. To maintain the appearance of your clothes and household textiles and to make them last longer you should use different types of detergent for different washes, whether for whites, colours or delicates. Whites We recommend the Ariel product range which is biological and designed to provide excellent cleaning and stain removal even at low temperatures. Non Biological If you prefer to use a non biological detergent, which does not contain enzymes we recommend Fairy. Fairy provides good cleaning and stain removal. Coloureds For coloured items you should use a detergent which is designed to clean while maintaining the original colour. Ariel Color does not contain bleach and therefore helps to preserve colours. Delicate Items When washing delicates such as woollens, you should use a product which is specially designed to care for fine fabrics. Dreft Automatic is suitable for woollens and other delicates. Laundry Bleach For additional stain removal you may wish to use a product such as Ace Gentle Bleach which is used in addition to your chosen detergent. Ace is suitable for all washable fabrics including silks, woollens and coloureds. AND IN WHICH FORM ?_ Not only are there different types of detergent, but they are also available in different forms. Whether you choose a powder or liquid in traditional or compact form is down to personal choice. Traditional Powders Pour the powder directly into the dispenser drawer. Do not sprinkle powder onto clothes in the machine drum. Traditional Liquids Liquid can be placed in the main wash compartment of the detergent drawer marked with the symbol yij, start ...
