• Place the CD in the compartment with the label side facing up. • Close the CD door. Once the door is closed, the CD will spin briefly and the total number of tracks on the CD will be shown on the LCD Display. Playing a CD With a CD loaded, press to start playback. The LCD Display will show the track number being played. • To pause playback, press . To resume playback, press again. • To select the next track, press . To fast forward through the current track, press and hold . Notes • • • • • • Do not force the CD door open or closed at any time. Keep the CD door closed when the unit is not in use to prevent dirt and dust from entering the CD compartment. Do not put anything other than a CD in the CD compartment as other objects may damage the play mechanism. Never insert more than one CD at a time. If a CD is deeply scratched or too dirty, it may not play (see the Care & Maintenance section for more information). Never remove a CD from the compartment while it is still spinning. • To select the previous track, press reverse through a track, press and hold . • To stop playback, press . . To - MP3/CD/USB OPERATION MP3/CD/USB OPERATION • For MP3/WMA CDs: If there are multiple folders on the CD, the player will recognize each of folder as an album. Press “FOLDER UP” to select the next folder. The player will briefly display the selected folder (Album) number. Press “FOLDER DOWN” to select the previous folder. • When a folder has been selected (the LCD Display will flash the ALBUM number), press or to select a track within the selected folder. USB Operation This player can play MP3 and WMA digital music files from a USB device (eg, USB thumbdrives, Compact Flash and SD/MMC card readers, MP3 players, etc.) Please see the What is an MP3CD? section for details about MP3 and WMA files. Connecting a USB Device 1. Plug the USB device into the USB port located beneath the LCD Display. . Set the Function Switch to the CD/MP3/USB position. 3. Press and hold to place the player in USB mode. The LCD Display will show “USB”. • It may take some time for the player to recognize all the files and folders on the USB device, particularly if there is an excessive number of files. Playing MP3s and WMAs from the USB Device With the USB device connected, press to start playback. The LCD Display will show the track number being played. • To pause playback, press . Repeat Play Modes You can set the unit to play a tracks repeatedly. Press REPEAT to cycle through the different Repeat mode options. To cancel Repeat mode, press REPEAT until the LCD Display no longer shows “REPEAT”. • Repeat One: Plays a single track repeatedly. • Repeat Folder (MP3-CD and USB mode only): Plays the tracks in a folder repeatedly. • Repeat All: Plays the entire CD repeatedly. If the unit is in Program mode, the unit will play the entire Program list repeatedly (see the Program Mode section for details). • Random: Plays all tracks in a random order. . - MP3/CD/USB OPERATION MP3/CD/USB OPERATION Program Mode You can set the unit to play tracks on the CD or USB device in a predetermined order. To create a pro grammed track list: 1. Press to make sure that playback has stopped. . Press PROG once. The LCD Display will show “P01”. . Use the , FOLDER UP, or FOLDER DN buttons to select a track to program (the LCD Display will show the track number) and then press PROG to add the track to the program list. The LCD will now show the next Program track number (eg, “P02”). 4. Repeat Step 3 until you have finished adding tracks to the program list. Notes • • • The program list can store a maximum of 20 tracks. The program list will be lost if STOP is pressed twice, the CD door is opened, or the unit is turned off. If is pressed before PROG during track selection, the track will not be added to the program list. The player will start playing the CD/USB device from the first selected track instead. 5. Press to start Program mode playback.
