Rear Note The configuration at the back of the monitor may vary from product to product. POWER S/W / POWER IN 11 Introduction POWER S/W Switch the monitor on and off. POWER IN Connect the power cord for your monitor to the POWER IN port on the back of the monitor. HDMI IN / DVI IN(HDCP) / RGB IN HDMI IN Connect the HDMI IN terminal at the back of your monitor to the HDMI terminal of your digital output device using a HDMI cable. DVI IN(HDCP) Connect the DVI cable to the DVI IN(HDCP) port on the back of your monitor. RGB IN Connect the RGB IN terminal at the back of your monitor to your computer. AUDIO IN / AUDIO OUT USB connection terminal (Option) AUDIO IN Connect the audio cable for your monitor to the audio port on the back of your computer. AUDIO OUT Headphone output terminal UP (USB upstream port) Connect the UP port of the monitor and the USB port of the computer with the USB cable. DOWN (USB downstream port) Connect the DOWN port of the USB monitor and a USB device with the USB cable. 12 Introduction Note To use DOWN (Downstream Port), you have to connect the UP (Upstream Cable ) to the PC. Make sure to use the USB cable supplied with this monitor to connect the monitor's UP port and your computer's USB port. Kensington Lock The Kensington lock is a device used to physically fix the system when using it in a public place. (The locking device has to be purchased separately.) Note For using a locking device, contact where you purchase it. Stand Stopper Remove the fixing pin on the stand to lift the monitor up and down. Note See Connecting Cables for further information regarding cable connections. 13 Connections Connecting Cables Connect the power cord for your monitor to the POWER IN port on the back of the monitor. Plug the power cord for the monitor into a nearby outlet. Use a connection appropriate for your computer. Using the D-sub (Analog) connector on the video card. • Connect the signal cable to the 15-pin, D-sub port on the back of your monitor. [RGB IN] Using the DVI (Digital) connector on the video card. • Connect the DVI Cable to the DVI IN(HDCP) Port on the back of your Monitor. [DVI IN(HDCP)] Connected to a Macintosh. • Connect the monitor to the Macintosh computer using the D-sub connection cable. Connect the AUDIO IN terminal of the monitor and the speaker output terminal of your computer's sound card using a stereo cable (sold separately). Note If the monitor and the computer are connected, you can turn them on and use them. Connecting HDMI Note You can connect digital output devices to your monitor. You can enjoy better screen and sound quality. 14 Connections Connecting Using a HDMI Cable 1. Input devices such as digital DVD are connected to the HDMI IN terminal of the monitor using the HDMI cable. When all the connections are completed, connect the power cords for the monitor and DVD (or the device connected to the digital output terminal). Select HDMI using the SOURCE button. Connecting Using a DVI to HDMI Cable 1. Connect the DVI output terminal of a digital output device to the HDMI IN terminal of the monitor using a DVI to HDMI cable. 2. Connect the red and white jacks of an stereo cable to the same colored audio output terminals of the digital output device, and connect the opposite jack to the AUDIO IN terminal of the monitor. 3. When all the connections are completed, connect the power cords for the monitor and DVD (or the device connected to the digital output terminal). 4. Selet HDMI using the SOURCE button....
