When you do not use the HC-2, keep the plug off the jack. * Be sure to keep the battery securely connected, even when using AC adaptor, too, * Even ii AC Adaptor cord comes out during performance, operation immediately changes to battery, causing no trouble in continued performance. AC ADAPTOR BOSS PSA SERIES (OPTION) BOSS PSA-120 FOR 117V AC BOSS PSA-240 FOR 240V AC BOSS PSA-220 FOR 220V AC Use BOSS AC adaptor for AC opera tion. Using a different adaptors may cause improper operation or no snund. * The BOSS PSA series have red name plate on. PANEL DESCRIPTION The BOSS HC-2 is a Hand Clapper featuring Velocity-Sensitivity effect. Therefore, the sound volume varies depending on the strength on the Pad. Also, the Reverberation effect enables even wider variety of the sounds. Moreover, it is possible to control the HC-2 by an external signals. BEFORE USING THE HC-2 • When operating the HC-2 from AC line, use BOSS AC Adaptor. • Avoid using the HC-2 at very dusty location, under high temperature or humidity conditions. CONNECTING THE HC-2 Power is turned on by plugging into the OUTPUT Jack. To the External Power Input Jack Amplifier 0 Hand Clapper HC! HC-2 BOSS AC Adaptor Ï3ÜSS Ci ......-................. OUTPUT Jack This is to connect to an amplifier or an echo machine Plugging into this jack automatically turns the HC-2 on, so please disconnect the cord when not using the unit. SENS This knob is to control the intensity of the velocity-sensitivity effect. As you turn it counterclockwise ( O ), stronger velocity-sensitivity effect is obtained. Pad This can be beaten hard or softly as you prefer. External Power Input Jack This is to connect the optional Ex ternal Power Pack (BOSS PSA series, AC Adaptor). INPUT Jack This is used when the HC-2 is to be controlled by the Trigger signal of an external sequencer etc. Moreover, the accent effect can be obtained by using the trigger signal. DRY This knob is to control the tone color. As you turn it clockwise 1 O ), dry tone is obtained, if counterclockwise ( O ), wet tone. HALL As you turn this knob clockwise ( O ), the reverb effect is obtained. OPERATING THE HC-2 1. After connecting all cords required, set all knobs on the panel as illustrated. 2. Tap on the Pad, and 'Hand clap' sound will be heard. 3. Now you may produce the sound you like referring to the Panel Description. * When the HC-2 is controlled by external signal, quick-attack trigger of over 150 mV is needed. The trigger signal also serves to give accent, i.e. higher voltage outputs give higher volume, so adjust the volume with the SENS Knob. * It is possible to play the HC-2 with the timing and the accent data you enter into the CMU-800 (Roland DGL [Set up| Connect the CV OUT on the CMU 800 to the INPUT Jack on the HC-2. fHow to enter the data] • The intensity ol the accent can be changed with CV data (refer to the exampled data). • Moreover, the output volume changes depending how hard you attack the Pad(or the voltage of the external trigger signal). • Be sure to enter zero into CV after each data as shown in the following example • The accent differs depending on the position of the SENS Knob. *lf the HC-2 does not function property or sound is distorted, replace the battery with a new one Example data i.......
