Directing the display output when you turn on the computer Once you have connected an external display device, you can choose to use the internal display only, the external device only, or both simultaneously. NOTE Some modes are only available with the appropriate device attached and turned on. 78 78 78 Customizing your computer’s settings The quickest way to change the display output settings is to use the display hot key (F4): Press F4 repeatedly until the setting you want takes effect. Briefly pause each time you press the F4 key to allow time for the display to change. Moving the computer Before moving your computer, even across the room, make sure all drive activity has ended (the internal storage drive and optical disc drive indicator lights stop glowing) and all external peripheral cables are disconnected. Do not pick up the computer by its display panel or by the back. Doing so could damage the system. Using a computer lock You may want to secure your computer to a heavy object such as your desk.
