4. Remove the memory module from the connector. Replacing the Memory Module(s) 1. Align the notch in the module edge connector with the tab in the connector slot. 2. Slide the module firmly into the slot at a 45-degree angle, and press the module down until it clicks into place. If you do not feel the click, remove the module and reinstall it. CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions that shipped with your computer. NOTE: Memory modules purchased from Dell are covered under your computer warranty. NOTICE: If you need to install memory modules in both connectors, install a memory module in the lower connector before you install a module in the upper connector. NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on the back of the computer).
