Setup - Before use: Read the EntiRE impORtant SaFEtY inFORmatiOn section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product. Functions lock Button power Switch 1/8. Shank with Buffing Wheel Collar accessories note: Refer to Parts List and Diagram on page 11 for accessory illustrations. • Use the Diamond Burr Bits (4) to drill hard, brittle materials, such as tile. • Use the mounted Stones (5) for sharpening cutting tools, screwdrivers etc, deburring metal after cutting, and removing excess material on metal and ceramics. • Use the Sanding Drums (6) to smooth out rough areas on soft materials. • Use the Cut-off Wheels (7) for cutting, carving and slotting materials. • Use the Buffing Wheels (8) for polishing. • Use the Wire Wheels (9) to clean dirty or rusted surfaces. • Use the Whet Stone (10) for sharpening. • Use the Drill Bits (11) to bore small holes. • mandrels are the shanks with a threaded or screw head. Use them with the cut-off wheels, polishing wheels, and sanding discs. The shank without threads on the end is for the felt polishing wheels. Hold the Lock Button down and unscrew the Collar. 2. Choose the right Accessory for the job (see previous page) and the Collet that matches the Accessory’s shank. 3. Insert the Collet into the Rotary Tool. 4. Place the Collar over the Collet, but do not tighten yet. 5. Insert the Accessory’s shank into the Collet. 6. Hold the Lock Button down, and tighten the Collar. 7. Release the Lock Button. Pull on the Shank to ensure that it is secure. Work piece and Work area Set up 1. Designate a work area that is clean and well-lit. The work area must not allow access by children or pets to prevent distraction and injury. 2. Route the power cord along a safe route to reach the work area without creating a tripping hazard or exposing the power cord to possible damage. The power cord must reach the work area with enough extra length to allow free movement while working. 3. Secure loose work pieces using a vise or clamps (not included) to prevent movement while working. 4. There must not be objects, such as utility lines, nearby that will present a hazard while working.
