Facilità d'uso

1.
Use Command View on ABM to configure the LUNs to be used for the filesystem
and make them visible to the HP 4400 Scalable NAS system.
2.
Open the HP CFS Management Console, which can be used for the following
steps.
3.
Import the disks into the cluster. This step allows the cluster to control access to
the disks. See “Configure the SAN” in the HP Clustered File System administration
guide
.
4.
Create a dynamic volume. Dynamic volumes allow large PSFS filesystems to
span multiple disks or LUNs. See “Configure Dynamic Volumes” in the HP
Clustered File System administration guide
.
5.
Create the new filesystem with the appropriate options such as block size and
disk quotas. See “Configure PSFS Filesystems” in the HP Clustered File System
administration guide
.
6.
Associate the filesystem with a drive letter or mount path, which provides access
to the filesystem. See “Configure PSFS Filesystems” in the HP Clustered File
System administration guide
.
Membership partitions
HP Clustered File System uses a set of membership partitions to control access to the
SAN and to store certain cluster configuration information. The membership partitions
are located on three 1GB vdisks in the array. Write access to the membership
partitions is disabled to prevent accidental corruption from other applications.
Membership partitions can be added, replaced, or repaired as necessary. For more
information, see “SAN Maintenance” in the HP Clustered File System administration
guide
.
Fencing
When certain problems occur on a server (for example, hardware problems or the
loss of cluster network communications), and the server ceases to effectively coordinate
and communicate with other servers in the cluster, HP Clustered File System must
remove the server’s access to filesystems to preserve data integrity. This step is called
fencing.
The fencing method configured on HP StorageWorks 4400 Scalable NAS systems
is called fabric-based fencing. When it is necessary to fence a server, HP Clustered
File System disables the server’s access in the Fibre Channel fabric. The server must
be rebooted to regain access to the SAN.
