Extra possibilities Adjusting device selection (Mode selector) The SRU 5060 is default set for operating TV, VCR, CD, DVD, STB (settop box, satellite or cable decoder) and AMP (amplifier). You can select the device you wish to operate with the SELECT key (mode selector). Each option allows operation of one device only. If desired, you can program the SELECT key (mode selector) to select a different kind of device. For example, if you want to operate a second TV. In the following example you will see how to configure the DVD key for a second TV. 1 Switch on the second TV. 2 Press the SELECT key to select STB. Press the key until STB lights up in the selector window. 3 Then keep keys 1 and 6 on the SRU 5060 pressed simultaneously for three seconds, until STB in the selector window lights up. 4 Press keys 9, 9 and 2 in that order. 5 Press the SELECT key to select TV. Press the key until the light around the Standby key lights up. 6 Press the 1 key. – STB in the selector window flashes twice. STB will now allow you to operate your second TV. 7 Program the SRU 5060 to operate the second TV. See ‘Setting the remote control’. 8 Instructions for use Adding a function to the remote control If you want to add a function to the SRU 5060, you can contact the Philips ser vice line for Universal Remote Control to ask for the 5-figure code for the extra function. Press keys 9, 9 and 3 in that order. 4 Press the SELECT key to select AMP. Press the key until AMP lights up in the selector window. 5 Press the OK key. – AMP in the selector window flashes twice to confirm the new setup. You can now use the AMP volume controls in STB mode. English 9 Instructions for use English Learn a key If you miss cer tain functions from your original remote control of the SRU 5060, the SRU 5060 can learn these functions from the original remote control. You can store a fuction under any of the available keys of the SRU 5060, except LEARN, SELECT and SHIFT. Please, note that any function already stored under a key will be deleted. Example for VCR: Make sure you have the original VCR remote control at hand. 1 Select the device mode VCR, with the SELECT key. 2 Press the LEARN key and the target key on the SRU 5060 simultaneously for 5 seconds, until VCR in the selector window blinks twice and then remains lit. 3 Place both remote controls on a flat surface (like a coffee table) and aim them head-tohead with about 5 - 10 cm in between. 4 Press the button you want to copy on the original remote control. – If the SRU 5060 has learned the code, VCR in the selector window blinks twice to confirm the signal is stored. – If VCR blinks once for a longer period, the IR signal is not learned by the SRU 5060...
