Unlike passive balun systems, the UniDrive employs Active Gain Equalization (AGE), dramatically extending range and signal integrity. In addition to HDTV audio and video signals, the UniDrive has a 3-conductor pathway for infrared control signals. This pathway can be used for signals traveling in either direction. The system includes one Model 9880T Cat 5 Transmitter, and one Model 9880 Cat 5 Receiver. The cable length compensation adjustment on the receiver allows the installer to fine tune image quality over long Cat 5 runs. Only the transmitter requires a power supply; the receiver is powered over the Cat 5 cable.
