The anti-kickback fingers hang from a rod suspended across the cutter headstock. The anti-kickback fingers should be inspected regularly. Check the fingers (Figure 37) to ensure that they swing freely and easily. If the fingers do not swing freely and easily, clean them with a wood resin solvent. Proper operation of the anti-kickback fingers is essen- tial for the safe operation of this machine. Failure to ensure that they are working properly could result in serious operator injury.
