If a shank is required, place a darning needle on top of the button and sew. 6 For buttons with 4 hoies, sew through the front two holes first, push work forward and then sew through the back two hoies. Raise the presser foot and cut thread. Buttonhole stitching s«m •• •• • • • • 8. Cut the center of the buttonhole being carefui not to cut any stitches on either side. Use a pin as a stopper at the bartack so you do not cut too much. I* Making a buttonhole on stretch fabrics When sewing buttonholes on stretch fabric, hook heavy thread or cord under the buttonhole foot. 1. Attach the buttonhole foot and hook the gimp thread onto the back of the presser foot. Bring the two gimp thread ends to the front of the foot and insert them into the grooves, then temporarily tie them there. Lower the presser foot and start sewing. Set the stitch width to match the diameter of the gimp thread. 2. Once sewing is completed, pull the gimp thread gentiy to remove any slack, then trim off any excess. Select pattern 23 to get the eyelet stitch. Attach presser foot "A". 2. Press the or"+" stitch width adjustment to button select the eyelet size. Size of eyeiet. A. Large: 7.0mm (1/4 inch). B. Medium: 6.0mm (15/64 inch). C. Small: 5.0mm (3/16 inch). 3. Lower the needle into the fabric at the beginning of the stitching, and then lower the presser foot Sever. Once sewing is completed, the machine automatically sews reinforcement stitches, then stops. 4. Make a hole at the center using an eyeiet punch. * Eyelet punch is not included with the machine. Please Note: If thin thread is used, the stitching may be coarse.
