Add number—Add a number to an existing contact. Settings—Check the phone book memory status and change the scrolling view. 1-touch dialing—Assign up to eight keys for speed dialing. Voice tags—Allows you to playback, change, or delete your voice tags. Caller groups—The caller groups feature enables you to identify callers by the ringing tone or graphic that you have assigned to their group. A group can be as small as one person or as large as your entire phone book. You can define the ringing tone and graphic for up to five predefined groups in your phone book. • CHANGE CONTACTS VIEW You can view your phone book in two different ways: Name list—Shows all the names that are stored in your phone book. Four names appear on the screen at a time. Name and number—Shows individual names and numbers. Only one name and its corresponding phone number appears on the screen at a time. In all views, you can use the Scroll key to move up and down through the list of names. To change contacts view: 1 Select Contacts > Settings > Contacts view. 2 Scroll to the view you want and press Select. • EDIT A NAME OR NUMBER You can edit a name, a number, or both. 1 Retrieve the name or number you wish to edit. 2 Select Details > Options > Edit number or Edit name. 3 Edit the name or number and press OK. • ERASE STORED NAMES AND NUMBERS Erasing stored names and numbers removes them from your phone. Once you delete an item, you can restore it only by reentering it. Delete a number from a contact 1 Retrieve the contact you want to edit. 2 Select Details > Options > Delete number. 3 When the message Delete? appears, press OK. 30 Copyright © 2003 Nokia The phone book Delete the contact 1 Select Contacts > Delete > One by one. 2 Scroll to the entry you want to erase and press Delete. 3 When the message Delete all details? appears, press OK. • DELETE THE ENTIRE PHONE BOOK These steps delete all contacts in your phone book. 1 Select Contacts > Delete > Select > Delete all. 2 When you see the message Are you sure?, press OK. 3 Enter your security code, and press OK. • ADD A SECOND NUMBER TO A NAME There are several ways to add a number to an existing name in the phone book. Once you choose to add a number, you can select one of the following number type locations in which to store the second number: General, Mobile, Home, Work, or Fax. From the phone book 1 Select Contacts > Add number. 2 Scroll to the name to which you want to add the number, and press Add. 3 Select General, Mobile, Home, Work, or Fax. 4 Enter the number and press OK. From the start screen 1 Enter the phone number using the keypad. 2 Select Options > Add to contact. 3 Scroll to the name to which you want to add the number and press Add. 4 Scroll to the desired number type and press Select. By retrieving the name 1 Retrieve the name to which you would like to add a second number. 2 Select Details > Options > Add number. 3 Scroll to the desired number type, and press Select. 4 Enter the number, and press OK. (For example, you can change the type if you saved a number as General and you want to change it to Home.) 1 Retrieve the name from the phone book. 2 Press Details, and scroll to the number you want to change. 3 Select Options > Change type. 4 Scroll to the number type you would like and press Select. Specify a primary number If any contacts in your phone book have multiple numbers, specify the number that you dial most often (for that name) as the primary number. By assigning the most-used number as primary, you are telling the phone to dial that number when you select the name for dialing—a great time saver when you dial names with two numbers. 1 Retrieve the name for which you want to select a primary number. 2 Press Details, and scroll to the number you want to set as the primary number. 3 Select Options > As primary number. Primary number set appears on the screen. • CREATE CALLER GROUPS Your phone allows you to create caller groups for listings with similar attributes in your phone book. The five available default caller groups are Family, VIP, Friends, Business, and Other. Each group has attributes that can be defined by the user: Group name, Group tone, and Group logo. ADD A NAME AND PHONE NUMBER 1 Once you have retrieved the desired name and number from the phone book, select Details > Options > Caller groups. 2 Scroll to the desired caller group (for example, Family), and press Select.
