On/Off pilot lamp CERAMIC COATING The hot plates are covered in a ceramic coating. This produces a smooth, even surface. The advantages of this ceramic coating are: - It improves the sliding action across the hair. - The plates heat up much faster (in a few seconds) and stay at a constant temperature suitable for hairstyling. USE Place the iron down on a flat, heat- resistant surface, plug it into the mains supply and switch it to the desired setting. Select position 1 for medium temperature and position 2 for high temperature, figure 1. Your hair iron will be ready for use after a few seconds. STRAIGHTENING TECHNIQUE Heat treatment should only be applied to healthy hair It is not recommended for weak hair or hair that has been recently bleached, as this may have weakened it. Use the hot plates on dry hair Heat applied to damp hair may damage the hair’s capillary fibres. Use a hairdryer after washing your hair to ensure that it is dry. There is a wide variety of gels and foams available on the market for use prior to straightening, these will make straightening easier and protect the hair. Once the iron has reached temperature, divide the hair into strands, select one strand of hair and place it between the plates. Hold the plates closed for a few seconds, pulling downward from the roots to the tip, in a single even movement The strand of hair should be kept straight when doing this to prevent it from becoming wavy. It may be necessary to repeat this procedure two or three times on medium-length or long hair. When somebody else is helping you with the straightening, the wide support area will help them to keep the plates closed, figure 2. Repeat the process with the rest of the hair, working strand by strand. CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Disconnect the mains plug before cleaning and storing. Once you have finished, switch it to the “0” position, unplug it from the socket and leave it to cool down. Make sure that the plates are completely cold before cleaning the appliance. Wipe the outer casing down with a dry cloth. The plates can be cleaned with a slightly dampened cloth to remove the remains of any hairdressing products. Do not store the appliance away if it is still hot. ADVICE ON DISPOSAL: Our goods come in optimised packaging.
