Using CableClear® digital noise reduction The CableClear® digital noise reduction feature allows you to reduce visible interference in your TV picture. This may be useful when receiving a broadcast with a weak signal (especially a Cable channel) or playing a noisy video cassette or disc. To change the CableClear settings: 1 Press Y and open the Video menu. 2 Highlight Noise Reduction and press T. Video Mode Sports Picture Settings Noise Reduction ColorMaster Game Mode Off Theater Settings 3 In the CableClear field, select your desired setting. Done Noise Reduction ANT Reset CableClear Auto LowMPEG Noise Reduction Note: • If the current input is ANT, VIDEO 1, or VIDEO 2, the menu will display the text “CableClear.” The available selections are Off, Auto, Low, Middle, and High. • If the current input is ColorStream HD1, ColorStream HD2, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, or HDMI 3, the menu will display the text “DNR.” The available selections are Off, Auto, Low, Middle, and High. Auto will react proportionally to the strength of the noise. Low, Middle, and High will reduce the noise in varying degrees, from lowest to highest, respectively. 4 To save the new settings, highlight Done and press T. To revert to the factory defaults, highlight Reset and press T. Chapter 7: Using the TV’s advanced features Chapter 7: Using the TV’s advanced features Using MPEG noise reduction The MPEG noise reduction feature allows you to reduce visible interference caused by MPEG compression. Choices for MPEG noise reduction are Off, Low, Middle, and High. Off is automatically selected when this feature is disabled (“grayed out”). To select the MPEG noise reduction level: 1 Press Y and open the Video menu. 2 Highlight Noise Reduction and press T. 3 Press B or b to highlight the MPEG Noise Reduction field, and then press C or c to select either Off, Low, Middle or High. Done Noise Reduction ANT Reset CableClear Auto LowMPEG Noise Reduction 4 To save the new settings, highlight Done and press T. To revert to the factory defaults, highlight Reset and press T. Using the ColorMaster™ feature The ColorMaster feature allows you to adjust standard colors. The menu will consist of 3 items: ColorMaster, Color Palette Adjustment, and Reset. To turn on ColorMaster: 1 Press Y and open the Video menu. 2 Highlight ColorMaster and press T. Video Mode Sports Picture Settings Noise Reduction ColorMaster Game Mode Off Theater Settings 3 In the ColorMaster field, select On. ColorMaster ANT Color Palette Adjustment ColorMaster On Reset Note: If you select one of the factory-set picture modes (Sports, Standard, Movie, or Document) and then change the ColorMaster setting, the picture mode automatically changes to Preference. To turn off ColorMaster: Select Off in Step 3 above. Using Color Palette Adjustment When color palette adjustment is selected, the list of base colors will be displayed. You can select a base color to adjust. Note: To use Color Palette Adjustment, ColorMaster must be set to On. To adjust the Base Colors: 1 From the ColorMaster menu, highlight Color Palette Adjustment and press T. Press B or b to highlight the color you want to adjust, and then press T. Green Blue Yellow Magenta Red Base Colors Select Standard Color Cyan 3 The Color Adjustment window will be displayed. Press B to freeze the picture. To return to moving picture, press Bagain. 0 +- Red Color Adjustment 0 +- 0 +- Hue Saturation Brightness Reset 4 Press B or b to select either Hue, Saturation, or Brightness, and then press C and c to adjust the setting. Note: To revert to the factory settings of the Hue, Saturation, and Brightness for the selected color, Highlight Reset and press T. 5 Press R to return to the previous menu. 6 Repeat steps 2 through 5 to adjust any other color. To reset ColorMaster to its factory settings: 1 From the ColorMaster menu, highlight Reset, and then press T. ColorMaster ANT Color Palette Adjustment ColorMaster On Reset 2 A confirmation message will appear. Highlight OK, and then press T. Are you sure? OKCancel 3 Press O. Using the Game Mode feature You can use the Game Mode feature for shorter frame delays when playing a video game requiring split-second timing between the on-screen display and input from the controller (such as music creation and high-action games). This feature is more effective for 480i and 1080i input signals. Note: To use the Game Mode feature, the current video input must be Video 1, Video 2, ColorStream HD1, ColorStream HD2, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, or HDMI 3. The Game Mode cannot be turned on when any other video input is selected. To turn on Game Mode: 1 Press Y and open the Video menu. 2 Press B or b to highlight the Game Mode field, and then press C or c to select On.
