m The batteries have been installed with incorrect polarity. m The batteries are weak. m The buttons are locked with the HOLD switch. (When any button is pressed, “Hold” appears in the display.) A beep will sound, “ERS” and “S” will flash, and the first 5 seconds of the message is played back 10 times. 2 Press ERASE while the message is being played back. Using the Shuffle Message Box When you record messages in the Shuffle Message Box, those messages will be played back at random so that you can enjoy games. You can record up to 20 messages in the Shuffle Message Box. Entering Shuffle mode Press BEEP/SHUFFLE on the rear for more than one second. A beep will sound and “SHUF” appears. Note During Shuffle mode, you cannot record or play back normal messages. (You can still use the Special Message Box.) Recording a message 1 Press REC. “REC” appears. 2 Speak into the built-in microphone. You do not need to keep pressing REC while recording. 3 Press REC again to stop recording. “ ” and the number of recorded messages appear.
