• The electrical plug must not be removed from the socket by pulling the cable. • Do not leave the appliance exposed to weather conditions ( rain, sun , frost, etc ). • Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is plugged in. • Keep the appliance out of children’s reach. • This appliance is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. • Remove the plug from the socket before filling the appliance with water or before pouring out the remaining water after use. • Never immerse the iron or the station in water or any other fluid. • The appliance must never be placed under the tap to fill with water. • When you have finished ironing, and also when leaving the iron even for a short while: - set variable temperature dial (14) to minimum. - switch the main switch (2) to the –Off- position. - place the iron on its support (11) on the appliance. - remove the mains plug from the wall socket. • Some parts of the iron have been slightly greased and as a result the iron may smell slightly when switched on for the first time. After a short while, however, this will cease. • Before using the iron for the first time remove any sticker or protective foil from the soleplate. Clean the soleplate with a soft cloth. • Do not put vinegar or other descaling agents into the water tank. • Do not use distilled water exclusively. • Do not try to repair any part of the steam station on your own. • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. • When turned on for the first time, your new iron may smell for up to 10 minutes. This is due to the initial heating of the used materials. The odor is safe and should not reoccur after initial heating. Moreover, the iron may emit some small particles from the steam holes. This is normal and will not occur after several times using the .steam. function. • Do not aim iron at other persons or towards yourself, while using the .steam. function. • The filling lid must not be opened during use. • The appliance must be used and placed on a stable surface. • When placed in a support, make sure that the surface on which the support stands is stable. • The iron should not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking water. It must be checked by an authorized Technical Service Centre before it can be used again. • Do not allow the mains cord and the supply hose to come into contact with the soleplate when it is hot. • Caution: The steam hose, base station and in particular the iron can get very hot when used!! Remove any label or protective covering from the sole plate. 2. Place the appliance on a stable level surface. B) FILLING WITH WATER. 1. Switch the main switch (2) to the Off position and remove the mains plug from the wall socket before filling the water tank. 2. Fill the tank with water until the MAX-mark. Important • Normal tap water can be used. To prolong the optimum steam function, mix tap water with distilled water 1:1. If the tap water in your district is very hard, mix tap water with distilled water 1:2. You can inquire about the water hardness with your local water supplier. • Never use distilled water exclusively • To avoid any damage and or contamination of the system, do not put in any perfume, vinegar, starch or other type of chemical into the water tank. • Do not use condensation water from tumble dryers, fridges or the like. C) SETTING THE TEMPERATURE 1. Check the ironing instruction label on the garment to determine the correct ironing temperature 2. Place the iron on the iron stand (11). 3. Insert the mains plug into the mains supply and then set the main switch (2) either to the dry iron or steam iron position. 4.
