The use of an earthed socket is recommended. SAFETY INFORMATION Danger of electric shocks or fire! • The appliance is to be connected and used in accordance with the information stated on its characteristics plate. • Never plug the appliance into the mains supply if the cable or the appliance itself show visible signs of damage. • Keep the appliance out of children’s reach. • Do not leave the iron unattended while it is plugged in. • This appliance must not be used by persons (including children) with physical, sensory or mental impairments unless they have been instructed in its correct use by a responsible adult. • Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. • The iron must be used and placed on a stable surface. • When placed on its support, make sure that the surface on which the support stands is stable. • Do not use the iron if it has been dropped, shows visible signs of damage or if it is leaking water. It will have to be checked by an Authorised Technical Service centre before it can be used again. • Unplug the mains cable from the electrical socket before attempting to fill the tank with water. • When the ironing is finished unplug it from the mains and empty out the water tank. • Unplug the appliance from the mains supply after each use or if a fault is suspected. • With the aim of ensuring safety, any work or repairs that the appliance may need, e.g. replacing a faulty mains cable, must only be carried out by qualified personnel from an Authorised Technical Service Centre. • Should you have to leave the area where you are ironing, unplug the iron from the mains socket. WATER TO USE Ordinary tap water may be used in this iron due to the fact that it has an anti-scale system built into it which reduces the build up of limescale and as a result considerably increases the iron’s useful life. High temperature. IRONING DRY Set the steam selector to the “0” position (fig. 3) and slide the temperature control to the desired position. The spray may be used if required. IRONING WITH STEAM Unplug the iron from the mains supply. Turn the steam selector to the “0” position (fig. 3) and fill the tank with water (Fig. 2).
