L If a strong light is shining on the door station, the visitor’s face may not be distinguishable. Do not place the door station in the following locations: – Where most of the background is the sky. – Where the background is a white wall reflecting direct sunlight. – Where direct sunlight will shine on the door station. – Where echoing occurs, causing the unit to beep frequently. L Make sure the back of the door station is not subject to water exposure. Important: L When the camera angle is set facing the upper left or upper right, the image may be slightly curved. Installation Introductions Installing the door station Important: L An optional face panel must be purchased beforehand (page 5). L On the bottom surface of the door station, there is a hole to allow water to drain. Do not cover it up when installing. 1 Connect the wire to the terminal connector. L See page 9 for the wire type and distance. L You can change the camera angle using the camera angle control lever. See page 7 for details. Door station Switch box Inch screw Installation Introductions 3 Install the optional face panel as shown. L Be sure to install the optional face panel (VL-GF001A) to avoid malfunction. 1. Loosen the screw attached to the bottom of the door station. 2. Set the hooks (1) on the face panel into the slots (2) and cover. 3. For excessive dirt, wipe the unit with a slightly damp cloth. Important: L Do not use anything containing alcohol, polish powder, powder soap, benzine, thinner, wax, petroleum, or boiling water. Also do not spray with insecticide, glass cleaner, or hair spray. This could cause a change in color or quality.
