Keep these instructions for future reference. • Before connecting the appliance, please check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds with the mains voltage in your home. • Place the appliance on a cool and firm, level surface. Do not place it on a hot surface. • Do not allow the mains cord to come into contact with hot surfaces. • Use the appliance out of children's reach. Prevent them from pulling the mains cord. • Never use the appliance if the mains plug, the mains cord or the appliance itself is damaged. If the supply cord becomes damaged, it must only be replaced by an authorised Philips service representative as special tools and/or parts are required. • Remove the mains plug from the wall socket before cleaning the appliance. • Never immerse the appliance or the water kettle in water. You should clean these with a damp cloth. Coffee maker: • Remove the mains plug from the wall socket if problems occur during making coffee. Water kettle: • This kettle has a safety cut-out which protects it against overheating due to operation with insufficient water. If the kettle ever runs dry, switch it off and allow 10 minutes to cool down, then refill with cold water. The safety cut-out will automatically reset. Subsequently you can switch the kettle on again. • If the kettle is tipped back too far, water will spill through the back cover. Though the kettle will still be electrically safe, extra care must be taken if it contains hot or boiling water. • WARNING: If the kettle is overfilled there is a risk that boiling water will be ejected from the spout. • Pour away the very first water boiled. The kettle is then ready for use. • The kettle must only be used with the appliance supplied.
