Follow these steps to perform the upgrade of HPOS 3.3 and HPOD 2.0 to HPOS 3.5 with MySQL 5.0 on supported
Windows platforms:
1. Download the perl script mysql_regedit.pl from the following location at ITRC, and save it in a temporary
directory:
ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/product_patches/hpom/hpos/scripts/scripts_for_3.5/
2. Open a command prompt window and change directory to the temporary directory.
3. From the command prompt, add a MySQL 4.1 entry into the registry by running the perl script as follows:
perl mysql_regedit.pl -a
4. Run the setup.exe program to upgrade HPOS 3.3 and HPOD 2.0 to HPOS 3.5 with MySQL 5.0.
NOTE: For more information about the upgrade process from HPOS 3.3 to HPOS 3.5, refer to the
Installation and Configuration Guide for HP Output Server.
5. From the command prompt, remove the MySQL 4.1 entry from the registry by running the perl script as follows:
perl mysql_regedit.pl -d
NOTE: When you run the perl script mysql_regedit.pl without any options, the script usage
is displayed.
