This release notes document describes the modifications and known issues for Patch 18 (P18). The
application of this patch is intended for HP 3PAR InForm OS 3.1.1.410 (MU2).
This patch ensures that all valid data blocks of a read-write snapshot (RWSS) with thin-provisioned
base volumes (TPVV) are copied correctly. It resolves the remote copy issue for initial synchronization
of RWSS with TPVV. The patch also adds robust error handling to the Logical Disk (LD) tuning phase,
and compacts any LDs remaining after the tuning is completed.
1.1 Supported platforms

1.2 Verifying the patch installation
The installation of Patch 18 can be verified from an Interactive CLI session. Issue the CLI command
showversion -a -b to verify that Patch 18 is listed.

NOTE:
This patch is not revertible after installation.
Applying this patch to the InForm OS may restart the affected OS components. With these restarts,
expected behaviors such as events and alerts may be generated. The system will continue to serve
data but existing CLI sessions may be interrupted.

CAUTION:
HP 3PAR Storage Systems must be upgraded to a minimum of InForm OS 3.1.1 MU2
before Patch 18 can be installed.
The Service Processor must be at release level SP 2.5.1 MU1+P005 or SP 2.5.2 before Patch 18 can
be installed.
