tree is cleared, affecting the NonStop resident tree database. Typically, a delete would be requested before
invoking the "Load tree from edit file" command. After successful completion, the object tree frame displays
only the globe icon that li nks to the configuration menu; since the tree is empty, there are no folder nodes.

D. Load Tree (from an EDIT file):
This command allows a user to load an object tree from a script written to an
NonStop resident edit file. Enter the fully qualified name of the file and click "Submit". As the file loads, each
object and command added to the database is displayed in the results window. After successful completion,
the new tree will be displayed in the object tree frame. For a detailed description of the edit fi le format, refer
to the example in the Script Management section.

E. Save (Current) Tree:
This option modifies the NonStop resident tree database to save the tree as displayed in
the browser. For instance, a user may have populated the tree using the "Populate tree" configuration
command. That operation automatically removes all folder nodes that currently do not show any instances;
however, the database on the NonStop is not updated at that time. The same hol ds true if a user removes
folders without instances after being prompted. Saving the current tree will make these changes permanent.
Note that object and command add/delete operations do affect the database, and a Save Current Tree
command need not be issued after any add/delete operation. If a user wishes to restore a tree to its default
settings, he/she must first stop the OCM process, then manually purge the WCMDB file, and then restart the
command manager. The purged files will be rebuilt by OCM and populated with the default configuration.
Another method of re-building trees is storing the tree information in an edit file and loading it into the
database with the "Load tree from edit file" command. To create a completely new tree from the edit file,
delete the entire tree first and then load it from the edit file.

F. Remove Folder: This command removes the specified folder from the display. The following confirmation
message is displayed: "This operation removes the specified object folder from the tree d isplay but does not
affect the NonStop object database". If the folder has active subordinate folders and/or instances, these must
be removed first.

G. Add Object (Class To Tree):
This command adds a new object to an existing parent object. It affects the
NonStop resident tree database. The first level parent is defined as "root". Objects must be unique across the
entire tree; if an attempt is made to add an already existing object, an error message is displayed indicating
duplicate record (return code 10). The form to be submitted contains the following fields: object class name,
parent class name (to add to the root node, specify ‘root’ as the parent class name), list box with instance
selection choices, template for instance selection, instance type and subtype, status command template,
associated EMS SSID owner and subsys, and a checkbox indicating combined folder/linknode. A combined
folder/linknode is indicated when subordinate objects exist. Example: PATHWAY with subordinate objects
SERVCLASS, TCP, and TERM. On clicking the PATHWAY object, the tree opens a branch with ‘Pathmon
instances’ link nodes and three folder nodes for the subordinate objects. After successful completion, the tree
is redrawn with the new object inserted.

H. Delete Object (Class from Tree):
This command deletes an existing object class from the tree. The change
affects the NonStop resident tree database. All commands associated with this object are also deleted. After
successful deletion, the tree will be redrawn with the object removed.

I.

Get Command Info (for Object Class): This option retrieves the templates for all commands that are available
for the specified object class and displays them in the results frame. This includes the name of the command
and the security id. If a non-existing object is specified, message "Could not find command info for [object]"
will be displayed.

J. Add Command (to Object Class):
This option adds a new command button to an existing tree object. The
change affects the NonStop resident tree database. If the command to be added already exists for this object,
it will be replaced. After successful completion, the new command is added to the tree, but the folder must be
re-opened to have it show up in the commands frame. The form to be submitted contains the foll owing fields:
